How your details are handled

The short version: we take only what the job needs, we use it to arrange and complete your repair, and none of it is ever sold. The longer version is set out below.

The details we take

Four items are needed to arrange a visit: who you are, a number to call, an email, and where the machine is. Sending the form on this site passes those same four across, together with anything typed into the message box.

Next to those sits a short service history: which machine, which fault, which parts went in. That record is what lets somebody answer a guarantee question half a year later without asking you to tell the whole story again.

What it is used for

Three purposes, and no fourth. Contact details, so a booking can be confirmed and so somebody can warn you before arriving. The service address so the van reaches the right building and the right unit. The repair record so the ninety days can be met when a claim comes in.

What never happens to it

Nothing here is sold, rented out, or handed over to a marketing company. Ringing us about a dryer does not land you on any mailing list, now or later. Your address travels no further than the people scheduling or carrying out the repair.

The only outsiders involved

On an ordinary job there are at most two, and often none at all:

  • The card processor, which handles payment details; nothing of the kind is stored on our side
  • A component supplier, where a part ships straight to you; it receives delivery details and nothing else
  • Your landlord or management company, where you have asked for the work to be billed to them; they receive the invoice and a brief description of the fault, which is what a work order requires

How long it is kept

Repair records are retained for a number of years, since guarantee questions and insurance matters have a habit of surfacing long after anybody expected them to.

Would you rather yours were not kept? Ring the office and say so. Everything we are not under a legal obligation to retain gets deleted.

The site itself

Simple analytics show which pages hold attention. Those counts are pooled and point to no individual. Advertising trackers do not run here, and nothing resembling audience data leaves this site for sale.

Your requests

Three things you can ask for at any time, each of them set in motion by a single phone call, and each of them confirmed back to you once done:

  • A copy of what is held about you
  • A correction to anything in it that is wrong
  • Deletion of the record altogether

When this page changes

Any amendment to this policy arrives with an amendment to the date shown at the top. What is collected will not broaden quietly without being written here first.

A line on this page you would like explained?

Call the office and ask. None of it is written to trip anybody up, and we would sooner talk a sentence through than leave you guessing at it.
